BEVERLY HILLS, January 18, (THEWILL) – Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayo Fayose, has again said the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, at 72, is too old and sick to be elected the president of the country.

In a statement entitled 'Nigerians be warned' and signed by him, he advised Nigerians to learn from the past and avoid repeating previous mistakes.

Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, in a statement made available to the press in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, ‎the governor said the matter before Nigerians was choosing between life and death and urged them to choose life .

Quoting from the Bible in Deuteronomy 30 verse 19: that says; “Therefore, choose life that both thee and thy seed may live,” Fayose

recalled that Gen. Murtala Muhammed, Gen. Sani Abacha and Alhaji Umaru Yar 'Adua all died in office as Nigerian leaders.

According to him, incidentally, all of them hailed from the North-West geo-political zone like Buhari, stressing that we don't want state burial again.

He charged Nigerians to vote wisely by returning President Goodluck Jonathan to office, advising the North to wait till 2019 when it would be able to produce a credible, healthy, vibrant and energetic‎ leader.

Fayose also berated the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola, for saying that the Lagos Peoples Demo‎cratic Party ( PDP) Governorship candidate, Mr Jimi Agbaje at 57 was too old to rule Lagos.

Fayose asked, ” What can we say of Buhari at 72, an old horse whose Fashola's party has put‎ forward to govern Nigeria?

” Where will Buhari find the energy‎? This implies that the sponsors of Buhari want Nigeria to return to the days of Umaru Yar'Adua which later produce Jonathan.
