Mr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas strongly condemns the renewed waves of attacks in North Eastern Nigeria

DAKAR, Sénégal, December 19, 2014/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for West Africa (UNOWA) and High-Level Representative of the Secretary-General to Nigeria, Mr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas strongly condemns the renewed waves of attacks in Borno State, North Eastern Nigeria and the continuous violence against innocent civilians, notably reported large abductions of women and children.

SRSG Mohammed Ibn Chambas calls on the Nigerian authorities to curb the continuous attacks taking place in the North-East and bring the perpetrators of these attacks to justice.

The High-Level Representative of the Secretary-General to Nigeria renewed the sympathy of the United Nations to the families of the victims, the people and the Government of Nigeria.
