Governor Declares Curfew In Ekiti Over Political Violence

BEVERLY HILLS, September 26, (THEWILL) - The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi declared a dusk to dawn curfew from 7.pm to 7.am indefinitely in the state to halt the torching of houses and looting of properties by political thugs protesting the killing of a politician and former transport union leader, Chief Omolafe Aderiye, who was assasinated on THursday night in Ado-Ekiti by yet to be identified person(s).

Aderiye was a staunch supporter of in-coming governor Ayodele Fayose of the People Democratic Party (PDP).

Tension between supporters of Fayemi, who is of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Fayose have been rising since the incubent lost at the polls.

with just few days to his inauguration as Governor of Ekiti State, there are at least two lawsuits seeking to stop Fayose from succeding Fayemi.
