I Am Ashamed of Nigerian Government…….Femi Kuti Explains

Son of late Afro Beat Legend, Fela Anikulapo kuti, Femi Kuti, says it is embarrassing if Nigerian and African leaders do not know what to do for its citizens after winning elections.

Femi who was on the 'ONE Agricultural Project' programme in Washington DC, says he cannot come out to advice the government on what to do because they so much depended on oil and forgot to make food for its citizens as at when the population of the country was still low.

The artiste stated that it is this oil that they rush and make noise about that has given way for high corruption which is one aspect his late father always tackle the government about and he is not also relenting

“The problem of Nigeria is that they found oil when the population was small, made lots of money and forgot to farm,” he stressed

He further noted that Nigerians and Africans have the best brains but do not create an enabling environment for their best brains to showcase what they can can do rather, they take it to help develop other countries, adding that as a citizen of Nigeria, he is embarrassed and ashamed with of the Nigerian airport especially the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, because the Nigerian leaders travel outside the country and they see the way airports are built to standard.

He added that making the money is not a problem, but putting the right infrastructures in place like good health care service, good roads, and electricity, became a problem because of shared greediness among the leaders.
