Killings In Egbema: Imo Government Condemns Killings As Imo Deputy Visits Family

Imo Government has condemned in its entirety the gruesome murder of six in Mmahu and Obiakpu, Egbema, in Ohaji-Egbema Local Government of Imo State calling for full investigation into the matter.

Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, yesterday, paid a condolence and fact finding visit to the families of those who lost their lives from the bullets of unknown gun men in Mmahu and Obiakpu communities in Egbema.

Imo number two citizen, while commiserating with the relatives and family members of late A. U. Aligbue whose son, Tony Aligbuo, was killed at the same time, condemned the dastardly act. He said Governor Okorocha had sent him to them to register his condolence and to assure them of Government's interest in the matter.

He told the bewildered family members of the deceased that Government of Imo State has waded into the matter to bring to an end the raging violent incidents that has been the order of the day in the area.

Prince Madumere who had in his entourage the members of State Security Council however appealed to those with useful information about the perpetrators of the evil act to report such to the nearest police station or to any security agency close to them. He reminded the people that the security agents will be working at cross purposes without useful input and information from them.

It will be recalled that in Mmahu and Obiakpu, gun men had murdered six people in cold blood in one week. Last two years, it was reported that the first son of late Aliegbo was also murdered in similar circumstance.

Narrating their experience, Mr. Prince Aligbuo, the surviving son of the deceased appealed to the Governor represented by the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere to come to their rescue to avoid the reoccurrence of the He, however thanked Deputy Governor for his time and for sharing in their pains.
