Nigeria Arise Awards 2014
The prestigious annual NIGERIA ARISE AWARDS will take place in London comes August 30th 2014 in London Nigeria Arise Initiative, in Association with BEN Television, (United Kingdom), is once again putting touches together to recognize and celebrate Nigerians in Diaspora and from Nigeria in this Centenary year of the country.
Nigeria Arise Awards was launched in London, England in 2008, and since then has become an institution that celebrate individual and corporate entities that have contributed towards the development of Nigeria; promoting Nigeria's enterprise, people and values socially, economically and politically through good governance and enterprising programmes/projects.
Mr. Alistair Soyode, who is the founding executive added, "This year's Nigeria Arise will be different in the sense that, Nigeria celebrates her centenary. We are uniquely positioned to showcase Nigeria to the outside World and celebrate our leaders doing better than normal as well as captains in chosen business and careers".
This year Award ceremony returned to London, UK after been hosted in Nigeria last year. It is not about the size of it but the impact we hope we can achieve by showing that Nigeria can indeed change if we put our resources together identifying those that can help us change for the better. This years' award is more important to us, as we celebrate Nigeria Centenary bringing ordinary people together with the establishment and recognising those that are working hard to better their communities and localities" added Mr. Alistair Soyode, the convener.
Some of the nominees are from the Banking Industry, Media, Telecom, Legislative and Nigeria Customs amongst others while such states as Akwa Ibom, Kano, Ogun & Imo States to list few are recipients on infrastructural development, good governance, impact on State management etc.
As a recognition platform, the Nigeria Arise Award thrives from citizen's nominations and voting, and includes several notable award categories amongst which are: Politics, Governance, Corporate, Broadcasting Media, Business, Online Development, etc. to mention but a few. The event has both in past and present been equally graced by notable and distinguished members of the Nigerian high society.

What is Nigeria Arise?
Nigeria Arise is a project that is aimed for the total reorientation of all Nigerians to aim high, challenge failure and be worthy ambassadors in their localities and environs. It is also a platform for mentoring youths both in the UK and Nigeria through strategic training and business mentoring. More than 100, 000 youths have benefited from this initiative.
Coined from the first word of Nigeria's Anthem, 'Arise', is a project aimed at instilling patriotic spirit in the Nigerian citizenry inspired by the knowledge and recitation of the national anthem and to celebrate those that have the mandate to do well and consider the feelings and aspirations of their people epitomising success and progress in their field of endeavours.
The Award
As a way of re-branding, motivating and encouraging our leaders and fellow compatriots - Nigeria Arise Initiative with BEN Television organises the awards to celebrate Nigerians around major events be it individuals, government and corporate institutions who have contributed to the development / image of the country economically, politically, socially, etc. The award is for those that are making positive progress or excelled in their field, business pursuit, or sustaining democracy through bridge building and integrations as well as ordinary Nigerian with an exceptional story etc.
The challenges faced by Nigeria as country saw diverse socio-economic impacts in some places and in other cases (negative), chaos in some part of the country, human & security challenges, political intrigues and in some, public incompetence in handling issues of national importance - yet, we are still standing.
