Eminent personalities from Urhobo on Thursday spoke at length about the need for transparent leadership in the state in 2015. They also vowed to see to it that only those who are morally competent occupy positions in the state.

“We require a capable governor who will address the core issues of this potentially great state. The person should have the strength of character and charisma to motivate the people, devise appropriate relief policies for the disabled and the elderly, guarantee basic workers' rights, build infrastructure at the barest cost and create an industrial Delta where everyone who seeks can find employment” the leaders said.

At a meeting convened by Urhobo Leaders of Thought, a group advancing the synergy of Urhobo stakeholders in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area, representatives of all Urhobo associations, traditional institutions, professional bodies and opinion leaders vowed to support Dr. Ngozi Olejeme,

A statement signed by Chief Nicholas Akpomiemie, chairman of Urhobo Leaders of Thought, advised other aspirants, particularly those from Delta South and Delta North not to dissipate any more energy to challenge Olejeme.

“Olejeme will not only win the primaries but at the same time win the 2015 governorship election”

To pick Olejeme, the leaders said experience in government, solid political structure, and track record of achievement, contacts and acceptability within Delta Central and across the state were the qualities which determined the choice.

“Olejeme is a suitable person for the Delta State exalted seat. She is a woman of wisdom, integrity, honesty and vision. She is also a grassroots mobilizer and the only governorship aspirant in the state that has credible structures in the three senatorial districts

They described her as a wonderful philanthropist whose generous hands transcend ethnic or religious barriers.

On the expectations of Deltans, the leaders said “Olejeme will evolve dynamic and progressive programmes which will re-engineer the private sector and accelerate the improvement in infrastructure, industry and agriculture. She will place Delta State on the world map for good” the leaders added.

We won't succumb to cheap blackmail- Olejeme
In a bid to actualize the full objective of the Employees'

Compensation Scheme, ECS, Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, NSITF

is repositioning the agency in line with the provision of the Act

establishing it.
NSITF board chairman, Dr. Ngozi Olejeme explains that in order to actualize the agency's mandate, it is restructuring the organization and also re-engineering its current workforce to reflect the objective

of the Scheme.
Olejeme hinted that the efforts to reposition NSITF was in pursuance

of the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan and that no stone will be left unturned to ensure that the agency measures up to global standards.

She also affirmed that the agency will not succumb to blackmail and

will not be distracted in its efforts to achieve its core mandate.

NSITF applies very strict employment policy, which has earned

accolades from several organizations particularly by the Federal Character Commission. The federal character commission recently adjudged NSITF as one of the most transparent and most equitable government agencies in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the attention of the NSITF has been drawn to the fraudulent activities of some scammers using the internet and other social media platforms to swindle innocent job seekers, with promises of fake job

vacancies in the agency.
NSITF in a statement frowned at this act and dissociates itself from the activities of the scammers, the agency also warned the public to disregard individuals requesting for monies or any form of gratification in exchange for job opportunities in the agency,

insisting that it employs strictly based on competence.

Okpe leaders drum support for Olejeme
Key issues in development like industrialization, higher education, good governance, opportunities for Okpe sons and daughters at the state and federal levels and how the people can improve their living standards took the centre stage in the politics of Okpe Kingdom on Thursday.

Representatives of the Okpe communities, the religious, students, artisans, business executives and elders who spoke on exemplary leadership that would see majority of Okpe people moving out of poverty, hopelessness and unemployment, said they were ready to support merit, performance, freshness and new ideas in the choice of the next governor.

“'The next governor must be someone of impeccable character and a track record in public or private sector” a statement issued by the President General, Okpe-Sapele Political Vanguard,  Mr. Onoriode Oghene in Ugbimidaka-Elume, Sapele  Local Government Area said.

The statement said the representatives resolved collectively to stand behind a member of the Subsidy Re-investment and Empowerment Program (SURE-P), Dr. Ngozi Olejeme in the governorship election.

“We have searched, researched and continually asserted in the last four months that the governorship slot must be for the best and simply the best. “Dr. Ngozi Olejeme is the best person for the job” the statement said.

Explaining that the decision was taken to reward industry, performance and achievement, the statement said Olejeme would offer the people responsible and accountable leadership as well as transform the kingdom and the state.

“For years, Olejeme worked non- stop to alleviate the suffering of the people. The records of what she did for the people are there. We know Deltans, particularly Okpe people are politically conscious, people who know what is good for them and can make good comparison. No amount of inducement can make the people to support another aspirant”.

They urged the deputy governor, former and serving commissioners, National Assembly members, a retired police officer and others not to challenge the people's choice'

They also urged Deltans at home and abroad to rise against mediocrity and protect their rights and their votes.

Anioma youths urge support for Olejeme
Delta North political leadership came under the searchlight of Anioma youths Sunday and they did not fail in telling the elders how to make progress in the land. Indeed, they told the elders that they have looked round the area and seen there was only one person that could promote the people's welfare and take the state to greater heights.

“We believe Dr. Ngozi Olejeme's experience in the public and private sector and her record in the public service have sufficiently placed her in a vantage position to provide desirable leadership in the state” the youths said.

The youths in a statement issued in Asaba promised to campaign hard across the length and breadth of the state, noting that most of the rumoured contestants for the governorship seat have nothing to offer the area.

Signed by the President General, Anioma Youth Leaders Movement, Mrs. Chinelo Elue, the statement extolled the charming qualities of Dr. Olejeme.

“Dr. Olejeme is a great daughter of Anioma, a pride to Delta State and Nigeria. She is one with extra-ordinary flames of passion for the development of the less privileged people in the society. She opens doors of opportunities for Aniomas and promotes the cause of peace. Through her foundation, many have been helped. Indeed, she is a rare gem” they said.

The youths who also described Olejeme as an icon of democracy, justice, accountability and development, thanked her for improving the welfare of the women folk and playing great roles in the development of the people especially in the areas of education and entrepreneurship.

“We thank you for advancing the cause of humanity and helping to move the Anioma nation forward without asking anything from the people”

Specifically, they urged the traditional rulers and chiefs in Delta North to encourage Dr. Olejeme to contest the governorship election.

The youths appealed to the good people of Anioma, of all shades of opinion and political persuasion, to join them in working for the electoral victory of Dr. Ngozi Olejeme.

“Our ultimate goal, no matter where we stand on the political spectrum, is the uplifting of the Anioma nation and the political, economic, cultural and social well-being of our people. Her emergence will foster unity and progress in Delta State” the statement added.

Delta leaders reaffirm support for Olejeme
Delta State Leaders under the aegis of The People's Movement on Wednesday bemoaned the propensity of some politicians in the state to perpetuate themselves in power, saying the political ambition of these politicians will end in mirage.

A statement by the Director of Communications of the TPM, Mr. Victor Oki after a meeting on how the state could be re-engineered to greater heights in Patani said the leaders reviewed the political situation in the state and urged the people to reject aspirants that have contributed to the state's adversity.

The statement said the leaders criticized what they described as attempts by some interests to deprive Delta North from occupying the exalted office in 2015.

Insisting that power should rotate among the three senatorial zones, the leaders said Delta North deserved to have a shot in 2015.

They also said only individuals that are willing and prepared to deploy their endowments for greater good would be encouraged to fly the flag of the major political parties both in the local, state and federal levels.

“Delta State needs competent political leaders in 2015; leaders who understand the state's problems and who have both the will and moral courage to use power solely for the purpose of reducing the frustration and suffering of our people; leaders who are prepared to wield power in full compliance with the principles and demands of social justice and transparency”

On the 2015 governorship election, the leaders insisted that the state needed a broad minded and well-connected person as Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan's successor, asserting that a member of the Subsidy Re-investment and Empowerment Program (SURE-P).Dr. Ngozi Olejeme is the best person for the job.

“Delta State needs someone with vision, sophistication and exposure in the saddle to be able to make a difference. The state needs a person with foresight to attract foreign investment. The state needs a strong personality prepared to serve” the leaders said.

Continuing, the leaders said “Olejeme is a quintessential reformer; a woman of vision and foresight. She symbolizes the very best and will provide for the well-being of our people as well as deepen the mechanics of governance and service delivery in the state”.

“We are charting a new path towards putting Delta State on the platform of reckoning” the statement added.

Female governor: Delta Youths raise hope
The Delta Youth Coalition, (DYC), a group of youths in the state on Wednesday provided the necessary qualities expected of those wishing to contest the 2015 governorship election.

Rising from an emergency delegates working committee meeting in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area, DYC vowed to make Dr. Ngozi Olejeme the governor of the state in 2015.

Speaking through its National Director of Information and Orientation, Mrs. Joyce Okubor, DYC described Dr. Olejeme as the best thing that can happen to the state in 2015.

“Dr Olejeme is a thoroughbred administrator, a shining example of honesty, simplicity and humility. She appears to be the most credible person to be governor in 2015” the organization said.

Throwing further light on Olejeme's sterling qualities, the organization said “Everybody in Delta State knows that Dr. Ngozi Olejeme is gentle, God fearing, very articulate and has the potential that commands the respect of all”

It urged political leaders in the state to look at the direction of Olejeme, stressing her wealth of political and public service exposure and experience.

“Dr. Olejeme is a reliable choice. She will keep up the reform momentum and bring joy to the hearts of the people. She will demonstrate visionary leadership, transform the socio-political landscape of the state and also mobilize the youths, professionals and the various groups towards the accelerated development of the state” the organization said.

On her chances, the organization said “Olejeme is advantageously placed. She has the background, experience, followership and the public approbation to win the PDP primaries and the final election in 2015.”

Olejeme: Delta politicians strategize; say she is an embodiment of political excellence

Leading politicians in Delta State on Thursday gathered in Sapele to perfect strategies towards ensuring the emergence of the Chairman of Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Dr. Ngozi Olejeme as the governor of the state in 2015.

“We are building critical alliances with the various communities. We are dialoguing with bigwigs in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). We are talking with opinion leaders, influencers in Delta State and prominent Deltans abroad. We are in touch with traditional rulers, youth leaders, professionals and others. Olejeme will scale through the primary as well as win the main election” the leaders said.

The governorship ambition of Dr. Olejeme has the support of key leaders in the country, particularly Delta State.

The leaders advised Deltans at home and abroad to be guided by wisdom in deciding the next governor of the state.

In a statement issued after the meeting by the Chairman, Delta Political Forum (DPF), Chief James Oki, the leaders described Dr. Olejeme as an embodiment of political excellence, development and kindness.

“We want a dynamic and resourceful governor in 2015; a governor with vision, a governor that will analyze and synthesize Delta's political, social and economic problems; a governor that can provide jobs, unite the people, bring pride to education and provide good roads throughout the state”.

They commended the NSITF boss for her achievements.

“Olejeme has excelled in the public sector. She has the energy and will power to turn things around. She will inspire Deltans to attain greater heights”.

The leaders also described some governorship aspirants as political jobbers.

“Olejeme's sterling qualities stand her out among the pack”.

They enjoined politicians in the state to adhere strictly to democratic tenets.

“There is need for the tolerance of other people's points of views if politics must become a healthy game” they advised.

DPF is a political movement striving for the enthronement of accountable and responsible government in the state.

“We are guided by merit, fairness and acceptability. We will put everything at our disposal to ensure that Olejeme emerges as governor of the state” the leaders added.

More than 30 heavyweights in politics attended, including local government and councillorship aspirants.

Olejeme hails Jonathan on appointment of Oruh
The chairman of Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Dr. Ngozi Olejeme has lauded the nomination of Dr. Stephen Oruh as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In a statement issued in Asaba by former Delta State Commissioner of Lands, Survey and Urban Development, Barrister Raymos Guanah, Olejeme described Dr. Oruh as a detribalized Nigerian and a gentleman per excellence.

She lauded President Goodluck Jonathan for his nomination and the honour done to the Urhobo nation.

“I am appreciative to President Goodluck Jonathan for nominating Oruh as minister”

She urged the ministerial nominee to continue advancing the course of Nigeria.
