ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia, May 22, 2014/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- Journalists are invited to attend a Panel Discussion with Barly Baruti, a Congolese comics writer and artist, and Emmanuel Jal, a South Sudanese musician, former child soldier, to be held on Friday, 23 May 2014, at 10:00 am., at the Plenary Hall of the old AU Conference Building in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Sandrine Umutoni, Project Manager, Ishyo Ishyo Arts Centre, will moderate the dialogue on securing lasting peace by 2020 through the creative economy in the presence of Ambassador Naimi S. H. Aziz, Chairperson of the PSC.

The objective of the Dialogue is to unlock the African creative economy towards realising a united, integrated and prosperous continent, at peace with itself.

Upon meeting most of its key objectives, the OAU transformed itself to the African Union (AU) in 2002, with the objectives to (amongst others) strengthen the role of culture in promoting peace and good governance.
