Cross River To Rehabilitate Nigeria/Cameroon Highway

SAN FRANCISCO, May 06, (THEWILL) â€' As part of effort to promote socio-economic relationship between Nigeria and Cameron communities, Cross River State Government has promised to undertake the rehabilitation of the failed portions along the Nigeria/Cameroon road in the state.

Governor Lyle Imoke disclosed this at Nyaje Village, Akamkpa Local Government Area, during the reception after the solemnization of holy matrimony between Mabel Effiong and Supol Paulinus Effiong Njah, the commander of his escort fleet.

Imoke, who lamented the deplorable condition of the road which stretches from Calabar through Ekang to Manfe in Cameroon, noted that though the area is endowed with rich natural and human resources, they are poor due to lack of access road to enable them convey their agricultural produce to urban areas.

He, therefore, promised to effect repairs of the failed portions of the road and assured that this would be undertaken before the end of the present administration.

The governor reiterated the state's commitment to electrify its remotest areas including the community, while assuring that he will liaise with GSM service providers to ensure that the community has access to telephone.

Earlier, Imoke commended Mabel, Mr. Paulinus's wife, for her understanding of the nature of her husband's work and the community for turning out in large number to grace the wedding.

The governor who had earlier attended the wedding ceremony of Vivian Effanga and Richard Archibong at Intercessor Bible Mission IBM, Calabar, prayed the almighty God to bless the couple.

He said his presence was not just as a witness but to also pray that God should give them everything in life, even as he enjoined them to look forward to another celebration in no distant future.

In his sermon, Arch Bishop Arichibong Archibong stated that marriage was an institution ordained by God, which he noted was more precious than any other things.
