Aregbesola, Shema, Dankwambo Late At Security Meeting

The all important security meeting convened by President Goodluck Ebele

Jonathan started without Governors Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State and

Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State and Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State

The three Governors arrived late without any explanations.

President Jonathan had convened a security meeting considered as one of

the biggest security meeting ever convened to address the issues of

insecurity bedeviling the nation.
Presidential sources told Pointblanknews.com that the President seized the

opportunity of the meeting to brief leaders cut across all religious lines

about the efforts of Government in taming the menace of terrorist groups

in Nigeria.
The recent bombing in Nyanya, a suburb in Abuja and the abduction of over

one hundred female students from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok

in Borno State was one of the major reasons the President summoned the

expanded security meeting, a source said.

Ministers in attendance at the meeting are: Abba Moro of  Interior; Gen.

Aliyu Gusau Defence; Abduljelil Adesiyan Police Affairs, Viola Onwuleri,

Foreign Affairs, Akinwunmi Adeshina Agriculture and the  Attorney General

of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke.
The Security chiefs in attendance are; the Chiefs of Army, Navy and

Airforce, as well as the Inspector General of Police, the Comptrollers

General of Customs and Immigration, Corp Marshal of the Federal Road

Safety Corps and the Commandant General of the Nigerian Security and Civil

Defence Corp.
Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, President of the Christian Association of Nigeria

and the Sultan of Sokoto, the President of the Nigeria Supreme Council for

Islamic Affairs were also in the meeting.
