Omisore Emerges PDP Candidate For Osun 2014 Guber Election

BEVERLY HILLS, CA, April 05, (THEWILL) - Senator Iyiola Omisore has emerged the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 09, 2014.

At the party's primary on Saturday conducted by Mr.

Adamu Aliero, a former Governor and Minister of the Federal Republic, Omisore polled 1128 votes while his other contenders polled as follows - Senator Olasunkanmi Akinlabi (35 votes), Honourable Wole Oke (5 votes) and Senator Isiaka Adeleke (0 votes).

A total of 1181 delegates were approved for the primary.

Omisore will seek to defeat incumbent Governor Rauf Aregbesola of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the main election.
