PDP Insists Its Doors Are Open To All Governorship Aspirants

Warns Political Jobbers Against meddlesomeness

By Rivers PDP

The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has stated for the umpteenth time that it has not and cannot shut its doors to any bonafide member of the party aspiring to the office of the Governor of the State.

The party in a statement issued from the office of the State Chairman, Bro Felix Obuah and signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Jerry Needam also denies having settled with any candidate as its flag bearer for the governorship race.

This is coming on the heels of speculations by mischief makers and political jobbers from the All Progressives Congress, APC, and certain spies in the PDP that the party has chosen the Supervising Minister of Education, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike as its sole candidate which dominated Saturday, March 29, 2014 radio programme, 'The View Point' of the Rhythm 93.7 FM, Port Harcourt.

As an institution founded on democratic principles, the PDP maintained it's not only imperative but also expedient to allow all qualified and interested aspirants for the office of Governor to enter for the primary election through which a candidate will emerge before being endorsed by the party.

The party believes that those spreading the falsehood are either on a mission to cause disaffection in the PDP which cannot succeed or have no job doing but to meddle into the internal affairs of the party.

The PDP is therefore warning such APC detractors and political jobbers to desist from poke nosing into its internal affairs, while advising all party members to remain loyal and steadfast in their faith in the party, reassuring them of equity, fairness and due process in arriving at all party decisions including the choice of a guber candidate for the party.
