PDP Holds Retreat For Publicity Secretaries In Yenagoa; Gov Dickson Says, It Will Strengthen Party For Greater Progress

A 2-day Special Retreat for State and zonal publicity secretaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has been scheduled to hold in Yenagoa between Wednesday and Friday, next week.

Slated for 9 O'clock each morning at the Ijaw House, along Sani Abacha expressway in the State capital, the special retreat will among other things, feature discussions on ways and means of harmonizing the party's communication system for a more effective dissemination of party activities, policies and programmes.

According to a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Olisa Metuh, accreditation of participant drawn from all over the country, will take place at the venue of the retreat.

In his solidarity message, Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State, who is also the Chief host, described the idea of a retreat as a visionary one, noting that, it will strengthen the communication machinery of the party as well as position it for greater progress at all levels.

His words “It is a brilliant idea to have a retreat for this caliber of very key officers of our party and I believe, it will further enhance ongoing efforts at deepening and strengthening the internal workings of the PDP.

It will also enhance the party's desire and commitment towards delivering the dividends of democracy to the people at the various tiers of government”

The Bayelsa State Governor, welcomed National officers of the party and other participants to Yenagoa, also wished them fruitful deliberations and a memorable stay in the State.
