… As the quest for the champion begins

With 64 contestants fighting for a spot in the Top 30 stage of Nigerian Idol, the heat is definitely on.
Theatre auditions, which also serves as the boot camp stage of the competition, remains the hardest, nerve-racking and emotional part of the entire show, but amidst all these, one of the eight groups in the Top 64 delivered a wonderful performance.

Working with a one-time hit song, 'Runaway' by 3-man band, Styl-Plus, one of the groups at the Top 64 round of Nigerian Idol gave a stellar acapella rendition with dramatics that paid off just fine.

“Well done and good job,” said an impressed Dare.

But the group comprising of Vicci, Blessing Isaac, Daniel Buba, Onyinechukwu Udodi was not so lucky.

Their rendition of Timi Dakolo's hit song, 'One Nation', didn't hit it off with the judges, especially Dede who referred to it as a disaster.

UK returnee make-up artiste, Adebola Adeyoye popularly known as V.E.R.A (Voice Every Race Accepts), however made a big impression, singing 'Big White Room' by Jesse J.

Vera stole the hearts of the judges with her soulful and very professional version of the song. “I am just going to affirm that you have been the best voice here today and give you a golden ticket,” said an impressed Dede.
