Airtel Rewards Customers with Arsenal Match Tickets

Lagos, Nigeria; February 10th, 2014: In keeping with the brand promise of being the most loved brand in the daily lives of Nigerians, leading telecommunications operator, Airtel Nigeria rewarded some of its customers with match tickets to the premiership fixture between Arsenal FC and Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, February 12th, 2014.

Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Airtel Nigeria, Segun Ogunsanya presented the tickets for the all- expense paid trip to the customers recently at the Banana Island Headquarters office of the telecoms company.

The five customers taken on the trip are Chizoba Igbokwe, a full time home maker, Funmilola Braimoh-Ademuyewo, CEO, Yosidara Nigeria Limited, Adedeji Adeshiyun, a banker with Keystone Bank, Ezekiel Ibisiki, MD, Solid Agro Construction Ltd and Olubanke Olatunji-David, a Public Servant with the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja.

The five winners departed Nigeria on Tuesday aboard a Virgin Atlantic flight to London, UK. While in the UK, they experienced a guided tour round the Emirates Stadium including meeting with the Club's backroom staff and some of the players. They won the tickets on the background of Airtel Premier, an exclusive platform dedicated to meeting the telecoms needs and experience of high value customers.


Speaking during the brief presentation ceremony, Airtel Nigeria's Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Segun Ogunsanya congratulated the customers on their winning the loyalty rewards tickets for a lifetime experience at the Emirates and urged them to remain true to the brand values of the network while pledging to continually reward customers for staying true to the brand.

His words, “I must congratulate you for your patronage and belief in the Airtel brand for these past years. It is your support and the useful consumer insights that you consistently provide, that has contributed great value to our business as we push the frontier of telecoms services further to delight our customers. We wish you a safe trip as you share quality time at the Emirates with our partners, Arsenal FC in London.”


The Airtel Chief Executive also reiterated the company's commitment to providing customers with impactful products and services matched with excellent customer services in pursuit of its vision of becoming the most loved brand in the lives of Nigerians.

Meanwhile, some of the winners have expressed their excitement over the new experience. “I am very elated. It's a good thing. Airtel has done well this time again,” began Funmilola Braimah- Ademuyewo, who incidentally is an Arsenal fan, but visited the Emirates Stadium for the first time. She continued, “It's a big surprise. I didn't quite believe it at first until I came here myself. I will like to meet at least one of the players.”

For Chizoba Igbokwe, a fulltime home maker, “It's a good feeling. Initially, I was happy and at same time didn't believe it until I came here. Nigerians not on this network should start using Airtel. It's real. I'm a living testimony.”


It would be recalled Airtel Networks Limited signed a partnership pact with Arsenal FC that provides the operator with the opportunity to utilize the club's merchandising, hospitality and content rights in five countries including Nigeria, Zambia, Ghana, Uganda and Rwanda.
