BEVERLY HILLS, February 17, (THEWILL) - Over 2 million people in Kano state have so far registered with the main opposition party APC as card carrying members, the state governor, Mr.

Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso has disclosed.
Governor Kwankwaso made this known on Sunday during a meeting with National and State Assembly members at Kano Government House.

The governor said with this development, APC is taking the lead in the state, advising those who are yet to join the party to do so for the salvation of the state, the North and the whole country.

He alleged that the federal government is bribing APC members from states and national Assemblies to leave the party for PDP, noting that no sincere legislator would do so in view of the implications of such action.

On the interactive session with the legislators, the governor said that meetings would be organized from time to time with the view to ensuring closer cooperation and understanding between the legislature and the executive arm of government.

In his remark, the member representing Fagge Constituency in the National Assembly, Aminu Sulaiman Goro said the meeting would bring unity among the members, calling on the governor to sustain his administration's developmental strides.

The interactive session later dissolved into a closed-door meeting that lasted several hours, according to a statement by Halilu Ibrahim Dantiye, the governor's Director of Press and Public Relations.
