Don't Mismanage LG allocated funds-LG Boss charged

A-community leader has stressed the needs for proper utilization of local government allocated funds, charging the recently inaugurated council officers in Anambra state to render selfless services to the masses for a better Nigeria.

Chief Ezenwa Okeke, a-prominent son of Ogidi community, Idemili North Council, Anambra state, who gave the advice while speaking with journalist, urged the Councilors and Chairmen to shun extravagant expenses and flamboyant lifestyle so as to deliver the dividends of democracy earnestly at grassroot.

He noted that their triumphant victory at the poll was an opportunity given on a platter of gold and a call to serve because good turn deserves another.

However, the Timber Dealer maintained that successful political dispensation is a brainchild of collaborative efforts among the executive, legislatures and the masses, even as he implored them to stand strong against all form of external and internal influence.

Similarly, Chief Okeke who called on the third tier of government to also consider construction of feeder roads, electricity, tap-borne water among other social amenities to their project, further indulged co-operation of the relevant agencies for a better tomorrow.

In a related development, Head of Service, Idemili North Council, Comrade Chike Obiekwe has called on Civil Servants at all the local government areas in the state to comply with the new executives and legislature with a view to moving the state forward.

Comrade Obiekwe who was speaking in exclusive interview recently, added that the services of civil servants were the most needful in transformation of Nigeria, even as he reiterated the importance of local government autonomy.
