NSE loses 73 basis points

The Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday reversed Monday's  impressive gain with a loss of 73bps to peg the YtD return at -0.64.

The NSEOILG5 was the only sector as measured by the NSE that gained with a day change of 1.59%. All other sectors lost, with the NSEBNK10 recording the most decline of -1.86% followed by the NSE30 (-1.26%), NSEFBT10 (-0.12%), NSEINS10 (-0.08%). Market breadth was however positive at 1.28x as 32 advanced against 28 decliners.

The gainers table was led by BETAGLAS, NEIMETH and GNI which gained 10.19%, 9.88% and 8.47% respectively. On the decliner’s table, LEARNAFRICA, LIVESTOCK and INTBREW topped the chart losing -4.74%, -4.50% and -3.47% in that order.  The rally on OANDO persisted with the stock gaining 7.77% as it still enjoys investors’ positive sentiments.
