FEC approves N28 billion infrastructure fund for Abuja district

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday  approved N 28 billion for the provision of engineering infrastructure in the Wasa District of Abuja..

The contract, which includes the provision of sidewalks, culverts, sewage, electrical and street lightening, road work, drainage amongst other infrastructure, would gulp 28.1 billion,Naira with a completion period of 48 months.

The approval was granted in a meeting  presided over by the Vice President, Namadi Sambo.

President Goodluck Jonathan is in far away Davos, Switzerland where is  attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, ended at about 11:30am.

Briefing journalists after the meeting, the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Olajumoke Akinjide and Information Minister, Labaran Maku, told journalists that the approval of the contract was in line with the Federal Government's continued efforts to provide infrastructure and affordable housing in the FCT.

Akinjide said that the infrastructure would cover 367 hectares of land.
