Gov. Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa said on Wednesday that plans were underway to domesticate the Almajiri system of education in the state.

Al-Makura who was on an inspection visit to the newly constructed almajiri school located at Akwanga West Development Area expressed concern at its current situation. He said replicating the idea of the Federal Government on the almajiri education in the state will go a long way in improving their plights. Almakura said instead of allowing them to roam the state, it would be most appropriate if they are confined to a more decent environment with basic social amenities. He said this would help in no small measure towards helping them in a more organised setting attaching premium to the lives of rural dwellers.
