Over 50 Army Trucks To Guard Anambra Elections

Over fifty (50) trucks of the Nigerian Army with combatant soldiers yesterday arrived Onitsha Anambra state for briefing for today's election from Enugu.


Efforts to reach the 302 Commander of the Artillery Regiment ,Nigerian Army , Colonel T A Gagariga was not successful but the Nation sighted trucks arriving the state from Enugu.


A source at the Nigerian Army confirmed the arrival of soldiers to assist the other security agents maintain order for a free and fair election.


On their part , the Society for Equity, Justice and Peace (SEJUP) of the Anglican Communion yesterday encouraged all political parties to see the Governorship election as a free and fair contest for brothers.


SEJUP reminded the politicians that gifts to Churches and their leaders by candidates and their financiers has nothing to do with the Anambra state politics, adding that church leaders in the state were recently being attacked, and campaign of calumny being done on the personalities by some unscrupulous politicians which they would not want to continue after the election.


Management of SEJUP warned against blackmailing of Church leaders because of election and appealed to all Christians to come out and exercise their franchise today.
