Former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni has commiserated with the Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Ibrahim Shema over the death of his father, Alhaji Shehu Shema, saying; “though the death of a beloved father can be devastating but the governor and the entire family should be consoled by the fact that the man lived a fulfilled and exemplary life.

Oni, in his condolence message to the Katsina State governor implored him and his family to take solace in the fact that their father died at the ripe age of 86.

He said; “The irony of life is that no matter how long and fulfilled they lived, we do not ever wish to lose our loved ones. I however implore the family to take solace in the fact that Papa's life was that of absolute dedication to worthy courses.

“Judging from the character and person of the Katsina State governor, one of the children, I have no doubt in my mind that the late Alhaji Shehu Shema, was a man with virtues plated in superlatives, who taught his children the ideals of hard-work, honesty and selflessness.

“I therefore share this moment of grief with my friend and brother, Governor Ibrahim Shema and his entire family.

“My prayer is that the Almighty Allah in His infinite mercies will grant the children the grace to continue to uphold the virtues of Godliness, selfless service, and community development, which the late Alhaji Shehu Shema symbolised.”
