Uduaghan bags award on exemplary leadership in West Africa

Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, at the weekend, in South Africa, bagged a Golden  Star  Award  for Exemplary Leadership in Governance  in West Africa (SWA) conferred on him by Security Watch Africa.

The award was presented to the Governor by the National Security Advisor (NSA) of Ghana, Brig. Gen. Joseph Mensah at a colourful ceremony in Johannesburg.

President of SWA, Patrick Agbambu, explained that the award on Uduaghan was informed by his exemplary leadership in the governance of Delta State.

Agbambu, who informed that the award committee travelled round 23 African countries before coming up with winners of various categories, added that Uduaghan’s diligent prosecution of his three-point agenda of peace and security, infrastructural and human capital development had brought smiles on the faces of the people of Delta State.

He emphasised that Uduaghan’s support for the police and other security agencies in the state has helped to provide security of lives and property in the state.

The State Deputy Governor,  Prof. Amos Utuama, SAN who received the award on the behalf of the Uduaghan said that the gesture would inspire and spur the governor to pursue his three-point developmental agenda with greater vigour.

Utuama added that the administration of Uduaghan was also committed to bequeathing a Delta State Beyond oil by focusing on agriculture and agro-based industries, tourism and industrialization.

Political Adviser to the State Governor (Delta Central ), Chief Fred Majemite, who was on the entourage of the Deputy Governor, described the award on the governor as a well-deserved one.

Majemite explained that Uduaghan came into office in 2007 with a three point agenda of peace and security, infrastructure and human capital development, noting that the award was a pass mark on his achievements by the international community.
