Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has presented a cheque of N1 million to the immediate family of one of the police personnel attached to the state security and anti-crime outfit, “Operation Burst'' who died recently while carrying out official duties.

The cheque was presented to the wife of the police constable, Kadiri Isiaka, Mutiat at a brief ceremony held at the Operation Burst headquarters, Agodi, Ibadan.

Constable Isiaka had worked in many divisions as a police driver before his posting to the area command, Agodi, Ibadan from where he was drafted to Operation Burst headquarters.

He was later redeployed to the Saki Zone of the security and anti-crime before he met his untimely death while on patrol.

While presenting the cheque to Mrs. Mutiat Isiaka on behalf of the governor, the Operation Burst Commander, Gen. Laz Ilo said that the gesture was to alleviate the sufferings of the late officer's family and also to motivate others still in service.

In her response, Mrs. Isiaka expressed appreciation to Governor Ajimobi for his quick intervention to save her family from sufferings.

She promised to use the money for the education of her two children, Anifat and Habeeb.

The state Commissioner of Police, Alh. Abubakar Indabawa, who was represented by ACP Chris Owolabi, described the exit of the police constable as a painful loss to the state police command.
