Access Bank Institutes 'Nigerian Entrepreneur of the year' awards

  Access Bank Plc has announced the establishment of the Nigerian Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. This initiative, aimed at recognising, encouraging and rewarding entrepreneurship in the country, was disclosed to media personalities at a CEO Media Forum hosted by the Bank on August 31, 2013.


The Bank's Group Managing Director, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, stated that 'the Nigerian Entrepreneur of the Year Awards will have two principal categories; Entrepreneur of the Year Award and Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award.  The Awards, designed to recognize owners of SMEs whose businesses have been judged worthy of recognition, will be granted at both state and national levels. He equally added that the initiative signposts Access Bank's commitment to ensuring that women owned-businesses are given equal opportunity and recognition in the development of the Nigerian economy.'


Herbert Wigwe, the Bank's Group Deputy Managing Director and CEO- Designate stated that

'Access Bank's next phase of growth will see greater focus on SMEs and Entrepreneurs, adding that the Bank's 5-year corporate strategy will positively impact businesses at every level of economic activity'.


The 'Nigerian Entrepreneur of the Year Awards' is a strategic initiative designed to activate growth and stimulate entrepreneurship in Nigeria. The selection process for honourees will be administered by a panel of Judges comprising eminent persons of proven integrity. Information regarding the Awards will be widely published in the media.
