I Will Bring Back Ahmadu Bello, Okpara Era, Says Nwosu
A governorship aspirant in Abia state, Barr. Friday Nwosu says he will bring back the golden era of Ahmadu Bello and Michael Okpara administration when agriculture was the mainstay of the Nigerian economy.
Addressing a mammoth crowd of supporters at his Mgboko Umuoria country home in Obingwa local council, Nwosu who is contesting on the platform of the peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said the country must look towards agriculture as the solution to the high spate of unemployment in Nigeria.
We must look towards agriculture as the solution to the unemployment problem in Nigeria. There is a great need to revisit the Ahmadu Bello and Michael Okpara years to discover how they were able to sustain the economies of their region with agriculture. We must do this to check the high rate of unemployment. We must also invest in education; grant scholarship to indigent students as well as other people oriented policies, he said.
Nwosu called on the people of the state to support the efforts of the present government to make life better for the citizenry, stressing that Gov. Theodore Orji has embarked on several projects which has placed the state on a sound footing.
“I have been calling on those promoting falsehood on the governor to desist. Instead let them come home and contribute their quota to the develoment of the state. I have seen seen the governor’s wife build many homes for indigent women; assist the less privileged and youth empowerment. The governor has been doing his best and needs to be supported because he alone cannot solve the problems of Abia state. All hands must be on deck; senators, Rep members, Assembly members, traders, civil servants must play their roles.
He called on the politicians to consider the interest of the state paramount in their dealings as the 2015 elections draws near.
