By TheNigerianVoice-TNV

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni has urged Muslim faithful in the country to continue to uphold the lessons of the Holy Month of Ramadan by avoiding all sinful acts, saying; “Those things that were abhorred during the Ramadan fasting period should no longer be allowed to become part of our lives now that the fasting has ended.”

Oni, in a goodwill message to Muslims signed by his Media Aide, Mr. Lere Olayinka, said; “With the 30 days fasting observed, the Holy Quran read, Hadith (Actions and sayings of the Holy Prophet) of the Holy Prophet and Tesfir (Sermons of knowledgeable scholars) listened to during the ninth lunar month, our Muslim brothers and sister have no excuse not to continue to live by the lessons of the Holy Month of Ramadan by keeping away from sinful acts.”

He said Muslim faithful should remain guided by that one month of total abstinence and keep away from those vices they abstained from during the fasting period.

“I congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters for seeing the end of the 30 days fasting period and I urge them to continue to uphold the tenets of Islam.

“It is my prayer to the almighty Allah that all the supplications made for our country, Nigeria during the fasting period will be acceptable to Allah.”
