Ajimobi schedules monthly meetings with Oyo community leaders

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State is set to hold monthly meetings with community leaders in all the 33 local government areas of the state with a view to knowing their needs and ascertain how government's development programmes are affecting the lives of the people in the rural areas.

This was the outcome of a meeting between the governor and members of Community Development Councils (CDCs) held at the Governor's Office, Ibadan on Friday.

He said that the meeting had become necessary as a way of getting feedback from the people about government's programmes and policies.

Governor Ajimobi urged members of the council to educate the people of their respective communities on the plans and policies of government geared towards making live more meaningful for them, adding that they should particularly sensitize them on the need to maintain clean environment and desist from trading on the street.

He assured that his administration would not relent in its efforts at transforming the state in all ramifications, adding “I want to assure you all that we will leave Oyo State better than we met it''.

The governor also advised the community leaders to form an advisory council that would be discussing with government on the needs and aspiration of the people of their communities so as to improve their living conditions.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the council, Mr. Joseph Akanbi Atiba lauded the various achievements of the Ajimobi administration in the areas of education, health, employment and security and pledged the support of members of the council to the government.
