Once again entries are open for the region's most prestigious advertising and brand communication awards. Work produced throughout Africa and the Middle East is now eligible for entry into the Loeries. Entries from outside South Africa are judged separately and the judging panels this year include international industry leaders as well as representatives from the region. The overall aim is to showcase the best work being produced throughout our region.

All entry information can be found on the official website (loeries.com). The entry deadline is 31 May 2013 and all work must be produced between 1 June 2012 to 31 May 2013.

Last year, twelve Loeries were awarded to agencies from outside South Africa, including two Golds that went to DDB Mozambique for Instituto Criança Nosso Futuro's human trafficking Print & Outdoor campaign titled 'False Promises' and Squad Digital in Kenya, for Safaricom's Digital & Interactive Communication titled, 'Daktari 1525'.

DDB Mozambique and Squad Digital are also positioned first and second place respectively in the Loeries Official Rankings for agencies from Africa & the Middle East. On being top of the rankings, Cristiana Oliveira, Strategic Planner Director at DDB Mozambique says, “Being first place means we are on the right track to become a reference in our region, if not one of the most creative agencies in Africa. Winning Loeries has a huge impact for us, because it puts us on the map not only for international but also regional clients.”

Guarav Singh, Managing Director at Squad Digital says, “Squad is a very young agency, but has high aspirations to become a thought leader in the digital marketing communication space. Prestigious awards like Loeries are very important for agencies, it not only puts credibility to the agencies credentials but also helps to attract and retain talent.”

Winning has not only had a positively impact on agencies but for the winning brands. Singh continues, “Being ranked no. 2 in the category is a testimonial to our dedication and focus to deliver ideas that will deliver business results for our clients. We love what we do and seeing our clients happy, and getting awarded for it too, is a great reward for us as a team.”

The Africa & Middle East category is open for entries in Communication Design; PR Communication Campaigns; Digital & Interactive Communication; Live Events; Print Communication, Outdoor & Collateral Media; Radio; TV, Video & Film; and Integrated Campaigns.
