New Pope Elected As White Smoke Appears

SAN FRANCISCO, March 13, (THEWILL) - Moments ago, white smoke was seen gushing out of the chimney at the Vatican signaling the election of a new pope to succeed Benedict XVI.

Bells rang out loudly also across the Vatican's Sistine Chapel, a sign that cardinals had elected a new pope to succeed Benedict and take charge of the troubled Roman Catholic Church.

As at press time, the name of the new pope is yet to be revealed.
