Pope Benedict XVI Resigns February 28--Vatican
A Vatican spokesman has disclosed that Pope Benedict XVI will on February 28, 2013 resign as the head of the Catholic Church. Pope Benedict was elected in 2005 after the demise of Pope John Paul II.
The spokesman did not state any reason for the Pope's sudden and shock resignation.
However, Pope Benedict XVI reportedly tweeted yesterday "we must trust in the mighty power of God's mercy. We are all sinners, but His grace transforms us and makes us new."
