ADAMAWA: PDP C'TTEE DEFIES CJ'S ORDER, CONDUCTS CONGRESSES

By NBF News

http://www.nigerianbestforum.com/blog/?attachment_id=122012 Controversy has trailed the conduct of yesterday's PDP local government Congresses in Adamawa State, even as the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, and the headquarters of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, were on ground to witness the conduct of the polls.

Sources informed LEADERSHIP yesterday that founding members of the PDP made a clean sweep of the polls which were successfully held across the state yesterday.

The acting Chief Judge of the State Honorable Justice Nathan Musa had earlier granted an interim injunction suspending the conduct of the Local Government and State Congresses till the case filed by MuhammaduNjobdiGella and two others against PDP and 10 others was determined.

In a chat with LEADERSHIP correspondent, PRO of the Caretaker Committee Mr. Elli Gamaliel says his group would go ahead with the conduct of the Local Government Congresses because they were yet to be served the court injunction which barred the congresses from holding.

When this reporter visited the PDP Caretaker Committee Secretariat in the morning, there was a large presence of fierce looking security personnel who barricaded the ever busy road leading to the Secretariat from both ends while traffic was diverted to adjoining streets leading to a serious traffic snarl in the area.
