They Say My Mouth Is 'POP'

By Daily Graphic

Dear Auntie Betty,

I am a boy of 16 and in JHS. Girls worry me whenever I find myself in their midst.

I have been receiving so many love letters from them. But I do not reply them. They tease me and say I have a POP mouth.

I feel uncomfortable whenever I see them. Please help me.

Kojo, Ashiaman.

Dear Kojo,

During the teenage years it is not unusual for girls to have a crush on you. Sometimes they find you handsome or well behaved and want to be your friend but express it the wrong way and think they are in love. So don’t take their advances seriously.

I think you have to ignore them because if they have started calling you names then they might be worried that you would tell others about their advances at you so they need to weaken your resolve first.

I am glad you have not given in to any of them. They will respect you so much for that and would realise that you are more disciplined than they are.

Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do about mixing with girls. You have to learn to accommodate all types of people but stand your ground once you know you are right.
