Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State has described the inter-agency co-operation among security agencies as one of the main reasons for the existence of peace and security of lives and property in the state.

He made the revelation yesterday, while receiving the Commander, Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery, Major-General Kalayi Kwaskebe, who paid him a courtesy call, in Akure.

According to the governor, the indivisibility of the Nigerian Army, even in the face of challenges, was a pointer to the fact that the unity and oneness of the Nigerian federation can never be eroded by any means.

Mimiko said: 'The synergy among the security agencies in Ondo State has largely accounted for the sustained peace and security being enjoyed by the people. This is one of the reasons why we take pride in our state as the most peaceful states.'

Earlier in his speech, Major-General Kwaskebe told the governor that the establishment of 32 Artillery Brigade in Akure was part of the tactical plan to deploy the military arsenal across the country.

He said: 'I am going round to see the officers and equipment under their control so we will have a picture of their activities.'

While on familiarisation tour of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Kwaskebe told newsmen that the Army will continue to collaborate with other security agencies to stem the tide of terrorism in the Northern part of the country.
