Newly appointed national athletics coach, Innocent Egbunike has told Nigerians not to expect miracles from Nigerian athletes at the London 2012 Olympics.

Speaking after he was unveiled to the media by the minister of sports and chairman of the National Sports Commission Bolaji Abdullahi, Egbunike said although the country was blessed with talented athletes, achievements would come with proper training.

The well-traveled coach urged the minister and Nigerians generally to look beyond the London Olympics. 'I am not a miracle worker but what I can assure is that we will put up a credible performance and Nigeria will not be disgraced.'

The ceremony which held at the Nigeria Olympic Committee headquarters in Lagos had in attendance President of the NOC, Sani Ndanusa, President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Solomon Ogba and other top executives of the NOC.
