Dear Auntie Betty, I am 15 and in JSS Two. I once woke up and saw that my underwear was wet with a whitish fluid.

Dear Osborn, There is no need for you to worry. Boys sometimes release semen or 'ejaculate' while they are asleep. This is called a wet dream.

Wet dreams are normal and common during adolescence. For many boys, the first wet dream is the first time that semen comes out of their body. You will probably wake up and find a damp patch in the bed or on your clothes.

It is understandable that you are worried because this is the first time such a thing is happening to you. It is likely it would happen again or never again.

You might think that when you have a wet dream it means you are a bad boy. No! That is not the case. It actually means you are maturing into a young adult.

This is the time to ensure that you keep good morals and not start having sexual relationships with girls. You can get them pregnant.

Why don't you confide in your parents anytime you don't understand anything or when something bothers you. They won't be angry with you because they have been children too and have gone through it all.
