Dear Auntie Betty, I am a girl of 18 and a JSS graduate. I want to go to the Senior Secondary School (SSS) but my mum who takes care of me cannot afford my fees.

A man who is close to my mum has promised to look after me but he warned me not to tell my mum about it.

He promised to buy me a phone and the things I would need in the boarding house if I have an affair with him. What should I do?

Dear Rita, The man has bad intentions and that is why he does not want you to inform your mother.

If he didn't have bad intentions, he wouldn't even have come to you with those promises. He would have told your mum instead. He wants to abuse you sexually so inform your mum.

Why don't you discuss with your mum to find out whether she can afford to see you through SSS or not. If she can't you can both discuss other options.

As for that man he will take advantage of you if you continue to chat with him. Make sure you are never alone with him.

If you don't avoid him and you start a relationship with him you could get pregnant or contract a sexually-transmitted infection (STI) or even the deadly HIV/AIDS.

Don't keep this to yourself, inform your mum so she can protect you from him.
