Police commends Ondo Govt over crime reduction

The  Ondo  State  police command has attributed the achievements its made in the prevention and combating crime in the State to the regular assistance it got from the Government of Dr Olusegun Mimiko

The State's Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Henry Fadairo who made this disclosure in Akure at the weekend was full of praises to the State Government for providing the logistics that enabled the State Police Command to effectively tackle criminals in the State.

Fadairo who advocated for an effective community policing which he noted must be in conjunction with members of the public and the police enthused that the police in Ondo State had done its best in reducing crimes saying that Ondo State had one of the least crime cases in the nation as a result of the commitment to crime detection and prevention.

The police boss who spoke shortly after he delivered a paper on behalf of the Assistant Inspector general of Police in charge of police in Zone 11, Mr. Saidu Daya disclosed that the mutual understanding and community involvement in the issue of security would go a long way to effectively curb crime in the society.

Fadairo counselled that the issue of security ought to be everyone's business and should not be left in the hands of the police alone.

To him, the people must as a compulsion cultivates the habit of passing useful information that could help fight crime to a stand still.

He however commended the efforts of the divisional police officers for being proactive in the areas of crime detection and control adding that with the provision of necessary logistics, the police would be able to reduce crimes to its barest minimum.

While describing the seminar as educative, Fadairo appealed to all the participants to always be security conscious and report suspicious movements of people in their environment to the nearest police state for appropriate action.
