NNDC: KOINYAN TASKS PARTNERS ON CO-OPERATION

By NBF News

CHAIRMAN of the governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Air Vice Marshall Larry Koinyan (rtd.) has said that for the Niger Delta to experience rapid, even and socio-economic development, partners must establish a common strategy through collaborative efforts to address issues affecting them.

He stated this while commissioning three major projects in Akwa Ibom State.

The projects, which are located in three local government areas of the state,

include a 12-kilometre road at Ikono and two solar-powered water projects at Ibesikpo/ Asutan and Esit Eket respectively.

Air Vice Marshall Koinyan urged the communities to exercise patience as President GoodLuck Jonathan's administration would not renege in its promise to comprehensively address the development challenges in the region.

The NDDC, as an interventionist agency, he said, 'is only one of the various development agencies in the Niger Delta.

'We have the local, state and federal government. What is important is agreeing on roles and responsibilities that would enhance sustainable development in the Niger Delta.'
