The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over alleged attack on one its candidate and party supporters at the High court premises, venue of the election petition tribunal in Abuja. A source who witnessed the incident disclosed that thugs allegedly hired by the PDP 'invaded the High court complex, Gwari settlement area, Apo-Abuja being the venue of the Election petition tribunal and attacked the CPC House of Representatives candidate for AMAC/Bwari, FCT, Hon. Yakubu Mohammed Adamu'.

The source further said that it took the combined efforts of security operatives attached to the election petition Tribunal and the High Court to put the situation under control.       Hon. Yakubu Mohammed Adamu had filed a petition against the PDP candidate, Hon. Zephaniah Jisalo at the Election Petition Tribunal sitting at the High Court complex, Gwari settlement area, Apo-Abuja.

Another witness and CPC supporter, Rotimi Fashakin who wondered why 'the chieftains and supporters of the PDP are not deterred by the precincts of the temple of Justice' described the perpetrators of the unwholesome act as 'the nest of killers'.

According to him, 'Immediately after the inaugural proceedings today (Wednesday 11, 2011) which was adjourned to the 2nd and 3rd of June, PDP thugs attacked the CPC candidate and party supporters at the court premises in the presence of the PDP candidate, Hon. Zephaniah Jisalo, openly threatening that they would kill the CPC candidate'.

'These thugs went ahead to vandalize one of the cars in which the CPC supporters came to the court; they broke the side window (as attested to by the attached pictures).       'Meanwhile, the PDP candidate, Hon. Jisalo, was standing at the scene smiling at the dastardly act being unleashed by his supporters.       'It took the intervention of the court Security personnel to stop the attacks on the CPC members' car, as the security men dispersed the PDP thugs.

'The thugs threatened that the CPC candidate and members would experience worse treatment at the next court sitting. Is this what CPC should expect from PDP across the various states? Is this a way of intimidating CPC to abandon the petitions? Is this a case of the ROBBER becoming aggressive and shooting randomly because of the determination of catching up with him? Our people, please be the JUDGE.       'We are convinced that Justice must be done no matter the intrigues.

Thankfully, more credible Nigerians in the mould of the respected legal luminary, Prof. Itse Sagay, (away from the PDP mob) are lending their voices in the condemnation of the electoral heist of April 16, 2011. We are fighting a just cause and we shall not rest until Justice envelopes our land. Nigeria shall experience true freedom', Mr. Rotimi Fashakin said.
