Popular Musician Tony One-Week, Nwoye Emerge Winners In Anambra
AWKA, April 28, (THEWILL) – Popular musician, Nollywood actor cum politician, Mr. Tony Muonagor, popularly called Tony One-Week, has been elected to represent Idemili North State Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly.
Muonagor ran on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), where he helped the ACN win its only seat in the House.
According to the result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the All Progressives Grand Alliance won 13 seats; the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won 8 seats, while the Accord Party and the Labour Party won one seat each.
However, INEC declared results from 6 state constituencies as inconclusive -- Idemili South, Aguata I, Onitsha South I, Awka South I, Nnewi South II and Ogbaru II. There was no announcement as to when reruns would hold.
Meantime, the result for Anambra East and West Federal Constituency was also announced with the PDP candidate and former Chairman of party in the state, Mr. Tony Nwoye declared winner.
Mr. Nwoye polled 16,021 to defeat his closest rival, Mr. Chinedu Idigo (APGA), who polled 12,487, while the incumbent representative, Mr. Ralph Okeke of the ACN polled 11,417.
