SARAKI CALLS FOR PARTICIPATION IN VOTERS' REGISTRATION

By NBF News

Kwara State Governor, Dr. Bukola Saraki has again renewed his call on the people of the state to participate in the forthcoming voters' registration exercise, saying it was the only weapon that would qualify them to vote at the general election.

Dr. Saraki made the call on Monday in Ilorin shortly after casting his vote at the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) primaries to elect candidates for the state House of Assembly election in preparation for the general election.

The governor, who cast his vote at his Ilorin North Constituency at about 12:15 pm, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the party's primaries and urged party members to continue to vote for PDP candidates at the subsequent elections.

Addressing party supporters at the Ilorin Central Constituency of Ilorin West in Baboko where he had gone to monitor the election, Dr. Saraki emphasised the importance of the voters' card, noting that without the card, their support for the party was meaningless.

Dr. Saraki, who also commended members and supporters of PDP for their solidarity and commitment to the party, urged them to eschew violence at the subsequent elections so as not to tarnish the image of the party.

He expressed appreciation to the entire Kwarans for their support for his administration and assured that he would continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to them even up to his last day in office.
