PHCCIMA Supports Amaechi’s 2 Million Man March …Commends His Economic and Developmental Achievements

In recognition of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi's role in providing an enabling business environment and his developmental drives in the state, the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) has thrown its weight in support of Friday's two million man march organized in his honour by the Rivers Youth Movement at the Isaac Boro Park ground.

Speaking to newsmen on arrival from Malaysia, the President of PHCCIMA, Engr. Vincent Furo disclosed that the Port Harcourt chamber as the mouth piece of the organize private sector will support the march in view of the governor's achievements in creating a peaceful environment that has improved businesses in the state; pointing out that the governor's willingness to partner with PHCCIMA and the organised private sector in policy decisions and other collaborative ventures has helped in stimulating ideas, enhanced businesses and increased investments in the various sectors of the state economy.

He also lauded the governor's strides in roads construction, education; health, human capacity development among others, stressing that these feats are glaring indications that the governor has a clear vision of what is needed to move the state forward.

“I think one of the things I find quite interesting in the young man is his boldness and strength of courage in taking economic decisions for the betterment of the common man. His recent move to crack down those behind the recalcitrant trend of multiple taxation, his ratification of the bill abolishing matching ground, the anti extortionist bill and the improved security are just some of the steps he has taken to press home his desire to improve on business and attract investment to the state”.

 
He enjoined the youths, communities, corporate bodies, friends and well meaning citizens of the state to come out en masse and identify with the 2 million man march billed for Friday December 10 th, at the Isaac Boro Park. While congratulating the RYM for their vision in organizing such a monumental event, he maintained that support for the 2 million man march is a support and solidarity for the visionary leadership of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for a second term in office; for continuity, sustainability, people oriented and development drives to move the state further forward come 2011.

Meanwhile Engr Furo has called on corporate bodies, industries, business men and the entire people of the state and beyond to take advantage of the upcoming Trade Fair starting on the 9 th of December 2010 to showcase their products and services, assuring visitors of endless varieties of products at their disposal in the upcoming fair.

Similarly he has assured that the PHCCIMA board will continue to make effort to attract full potential and business opportunities within Port Harcourt, and beyond, providing rare opportunities for companies, corporate organizations, banks, industrialist; small and medium scale enterprises including individuals to participate actively to boost economic activities and attract investment in the state.
