JOB CREATION, POVERTY ALLEVIATION OUR GOALS – DANGOTE GROUP

As existing consumers and potential customers throng its stand at the ongoing 24th Lagos International Trade Fair, the Dangote Group has restated its commitment to job creation and poverty alleviation.

The Group Head, Corporate Communications, Dangote Group, Mr. Tony Chiejina, who said this at a media briefing at the fair in Lagos, added that the group's overall activities, either at corporate, communal, societal, national or international levels, remained anchored on its motto: 'Touching Lives Everyday.'

Chiejina's statement was informed by the rate of patronage of the company's products at the fair, which he described as 'such that the group, for sometime, could not meet demand and had to order for more trucks of the group's several products, which were available at promotional prices at the fair.'

Indeed, several seasonal workers employed to assist its employees to attend to visitors or sell its products nearby, attested to the group's job creation disposition.

Chiejina said, 'We are at this fair to expand the scope of our business and to enable consumers to taste our different products. Some of them are not aware of some of our products. But, now they have the opportunity for a first hand contact and business enquiries.

'You can see them all around marketing our products to fair participants at reduced prices. The level of patronage is simply unbelievable. And you can see visitors to our stand enjoying a taste of our noodles free of charge. We call it sampling, so that they can have a feel of the product before buying. Our trucks have been parading the fair ground so that we can be able to meet the increasing demand of our consumers for our various products.'

He also assured Nigerians that the group would continue to use every available opportunity to use its products to touch lives in one way or the other- by giving direct and indirect employment to Nigerians as a way of alleviating poverty.

Also, school children benefited from the free sampling of noodles at the Dangote stand.

Besides, assorted gifts were also given to visitors to the Dangote stand. Companies in the Dangote Group represented at the fair included Dangote Sugar Refinery, Dangote Flour Mill and Dansa Foods Limited.
