President Goodluck Jonathan has paid glowing tribute to late Mrs. Elder Comfort Imoke, describing her as a mother, who established her footprints with an indelible ink on earth. The president, who stated this at the funeral ceremony of the Mrs. Imoke, held at Itigidi in Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State, said the death of mother of the state Governor, Liyel Imoke, called for celebration because she lived a fulfilled life after a ripe age of 81 years on earth.

The President said: 'I use this opportunity to join the Imoke's family to thank you all that came out to celebrate with the family. I say celebration because reading the bible, one would think it is difficult it to live beyond 70 years, but our mother exceeded that, especially reading through her biography, you see the wonderful contribution she has made while on earth with us.'

'Those of us who have opportunity to be here; those who are also not here, we ask ourselves, if we were to return to mother earth, what would be our biography. We are lucky we had a mother, who, as at that time, was opportuned to be educated,' he maintained. 'But it does not really end with education. You don't need to have a degree or certificate to put your footprints with an indelible ink on earth. And when somebody dies, I know there are some people, when you want to bury, even find it difficult to write a biography because there is no good thing to write about them.'

The President further said: 'We are happy that we have a mother that was specially created by God and served humanity and was able to bring us here today with her children. Most of us probably did not interact with most of the children but because Liyel is in Politics and a number of us know him. But from the information I have, the children were all brought up in a God-fearing way and they have impacted the society positively.'

He used the occasion to advise Nigerians to always act and live in accordance with God's injunction so that we live behind a fulfilled dream and good name, adding that in moments like this, 'we thank God for making her such a wonderful star and God has used her to bless so many people even outside her own biological children and we should borrow a leaf from her life style in all our endeavors.'
