Cometsa Music 2 Deal

By COMETSA Media Department

COMETSA Mafrika Music Enterprises, a self-motivated Johannesburg based arts, music and entertainment, company, has just scooped a ground-breaking agreement with Music2Deal, a leading European music marketing entity based in Hamburg, Germany.

The deal, signed yesterday (29 September 2010) appoints COMETSA Mafrika Music Enterprise as the exclusive representative on the African continent covering all the 53 countries.

“This is a ground-breaking deal for South Africa and the African music communities. As Africa we have waited long for such a key development, which has massive potential to transform the way the continent's music is marketed,” commented a thrilled Sam Tsima, founder and chairman of the organization.

Music2Deal is a community and marketplace of music industry online used by producers, record companies, music managers, promoters, music publishers, bands, artists, vocalists, advertising agencies, agents, video and gaming companies, film and television producers to find each other.

It enables musicians and related personnel to establish business contacts with the global community professionals in the music business, introduce themselves and their music, look for and request to license songs. Members can also find producers and singers for new productions.

The latest development brings the number of countries using the innovative and social network styled music marketing platform to a presence in 83 countries in Africa and globally. Also, Africa's addition makes Music2Deal a truly global footprint straddling the five world continents after a buoyant performance in its formative years in Europe.

“Presently basic membership on www.music2deal.com is free. Only premium account attracts a monthly fee. We need proof of music work or project to approve applications online,” stated Sam Tsima.

Music2Deal's advantages include free communication tools; musicians keep 100 percent of their profits, monitor statistics of their profile and more importantly musicians are exposed throughout the year and marketed through an internationally accessible medium.

Given that good contacts are the key to marketing success in addition to the difficulties faced in marketing music in Africa, Music2Deal should be a boon to the entire music making community on the continent.

Sam Tsima clinched the deal after his recent visit to Germany where he attended Popkomm, a premier global music market in Berlin.

His trip was made possible by the Gauteng Economic Development Agency (GEDA), Department of Trade & Industry (DTI), and IMEXA.

Acknowledging his benefactors, Tsima stated, “This deal is indebted to the three agencies for their total commitment in making Cometsa's participation at Popkomm a great success. Without their precious support, we would not be celebrating today.”

Popkomm is an international trade show for the music and entertainment business, attracting a growing list of the world's leading music industry personnel every year in Berlin. It has since developed into one of the three biggest international music business-to-business events in Europe.
