JOS, Sept 16, (THEWILL) - Following the massive circulation of campaign posters of the Deputy Governor of Plateau State Dame Pauline Tallen and the Deputy Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Ibrahim Baba Hassan in Jos, Plateau State Capital, Mrs. Tallen has disassociated herself from the posters.

Residents of Jos woke up Tuesday morning to see posters that had pictures of Tallen with that of the Hassan as aspirants to the position of governor and deputy governor respectively.

The deputy director of press in Tallen's office, Solomon Nshem, who called a press conference for the purpose of disowning the posters, described the political development as "shocking and an embarrassment to the deputy governor.

"We received information last night that some group of people pasted posters with the portrait and names of the Deputy Governor of Plateau State and the Deputy Speaker of the state House of Assembly indicating that they are contesting for the position of Governor and Deputy Governor of the state in 2011 election."

Nshem said It came as a shock to the Tallen because she has not delegated anyone to print and circulate posters on her behalf in any part of the state adding that the Deputy Governor has never associated with the named running mate.

"The said posters must have been printed by mischief makers in the state with the aim of creating disaffection and bad blood between the deputy and his boss and indeed the entire good people of the state."

He added that the Deputy Governor’s Office has alerted the relevant security agencies in the state to unearth these ‘faceless people.
