The concerned citizens of Ika Federal Constituency in Delta State, Nigeria has decried the recent disheartening events rocking the hallowed chambers of the Federal House of Representatives, especially the suspension, brutalization, abuse of

freedom of expression and democratic noms and the outright sealing-off of the Ika Federal Constituency in Delta State of Nigeria Office in the Federal House of representatives premises in Abuja. The group at an enlarge meeting and exhaustive deliberation on the issues came up with a nine-point resolution signed by Mr. Christopher Victor and Mr. Samuel Ndudi, National Co-ordinator and Secretary-General respectively at Agbor.

We have resolved that:
1.We watched with utter dismay of the unceremonial drama that unfolded on the floor of the hallow chambers on the Federal House Representative, on Wednesday June 23, 2010, where our elected Honorable representatives throw caution to the winds and go on a physical brawl in the floor of the House.

2.we condemn in strong terms the brutality and intimidation by some so-called male members of federal House of Representative against our dynamic, outspoken,  vibrant representative- Hon Doris Uboh  on the floor of the House during the plenary session.

3.that we are convinced beyond reasonable doubts that Hon Doris Uboh  is not a member of the progressive Group led by Hon. Melaye that petition the Hon. Dimeji bankole led leadership in the house.

4.We used this medium to call on all those members who openly assaulted our distinguished representative, Hon. Uboh- to render unreserved apology to Hon. Uboh for abusing her freedom of expressions and democratic rights on the floor of the house.

5.We also call for the immediate re-opening of our sealed federal Constituency Office in Abuja, within the shortest possible time. And that we cannot fold our hands to watch our federal Constituency office sealed up thereby denying our constituency representative for the rest of the session. Failure to adhere to this call, we have no other option than to seek legal redress in order to ensure that our constituency rights and privileges are protected for the general interest of the Ika Federal Constituency in Delta State of Nigeria.

6.We have impeccable, unshakeable confidence in Hon. Doris Uboh's present representation in the federal House of Representatives. And we warned that, no individual, groups or members in the House should ever deny her of her rights and privilege as constitutionally entrenched in section 21 of the House Powers and privileges Acts of 2004 proceedings in the House.

7.we call on the various anti-graft agencies in the country to quickly swoop in and investigate all the allegations raised by the progressive group for the interest of the leadership of the house, its members and the country at large.

8.Rt. Honorable Dimeji Bankole led leadership in the House should not feel that they are above the law and larger that a federal Constituency, as such their act of sealing up our constituency office is an affront an evidence of power drunkenness of the good and law abiding people of Federal Constituency In Delta State.

9.therefore, we also demand for an unreseved apology to be tendered to Hon. Uboh and the good and people of Ika federal Constituency in order not to thwart our nascent democracy.   Finally, we call on President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the national leadership of the People Democratic Party  (PDP), the state leadership of PDP and other shakeholders to intervene in the crisis for the interest of the generality of our people.
