ZMC TO MANAGE NIGERIA INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION IN NEW-YORK CITY.
ZMC, a foremost PR and event agency has won the account of organising the Nigerian Independence Celebration in New-York city, United States of America (USA) for three consecutive years. The carnival is the product of Nigerian Independence Day Parade Committee Inc. (NIDC) incorporated in the State of New-York, under the Organisation for the Advancement of Nigeria's Incorporation (OAN).
The Nigeria Independence Day Celebration is expected to hold between the 1st to 3rd of October, 2009 at the New-York City. Nigerians in the USA, in other part of the Latin American continent and all over the world will once again gather in a festive mood to celebrate Nigeria's 49th Independence Anniversary.
This celebration has been in existence since 1990 and over the years, it has become a very strong brand that stakeholders within and outside the shores of United State has come to appreciate, hence, it has become an annual assemblage for fun loving people and avenue for business networking and camaraderie.
Zmirage Marketing& Communications(ZMC) is to mobilize the Nigeria contingent to New-York, USA. The team will be a conglomeration of artistes, celebrities, corporate chief executives, media chiefs, fun-loving individuals, business men/women, partners and sponsors.
This year's carnival is expected to be bigger and better in terms of content and package. The event's sponsorship drive, PR networking and Delegation coordination of artistes, crew and other stakeholders has been contracted to Lagos leading Marketing communication firm (ZMC).
It would be recalled that ZMC in recent period has handled accounts like KORA All Africa Music Awards, Bafana Bafana Concert, HAVANA Carnival, 2009 Annual Scientific Delegate Meetings of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Gateways Games 2006, Rivers State Carnival (CARNIRIV), Miss ECOWAS 2008 amongst many others.
The Executive Director of ZMC, Mike Dada posited “ we have taken over this project to take it beyond its usual and conventional arrangement, we want to take it to the next level and assemble the best of the Nigerian contingent for the biggest Afro-Black carnival in America. Our target is to bring about a renaissance in the carnival and to use the carnival to further serve as a booster to the exemplary exploit of Nigerians across the globe regardless of our internal challenges”.
The key objectives of the carnival are as follows;
(a) To create an avenue to bring Nigerians and other Africans in the Diaspora together, to continue to foster friendship between Nigeria and USA
(b) To strive for unity among Nigerians all over the world.
(c) To serve as a strategic public relations tool for Nigeria.
(d) To project the rich culture of Nigeria and indeed the African continent through different performances at the event.
(e) To create an avenue for Nigerians and other stakeholders to promote social and business ideas.
The carnival is a three-day event with pot-pourri of activities like Carnival/Cultural Display, Independence Talk, Independence Walk/Parade, Mega-Concert, Command Performance of a Stage Play on Nigeria amidst many others. A lot of leading artistes in Nigeria and other part of Africa are billed for the carnival. There will be special appearance of Hollywood& Hollywood celebrities, unprecedented glamour and ambience, red carpet treatment, 100,000 watts of sound, fireworks and effect amidst others.
Equally, to add colour to the parade is a live broadcast by a leading African Television station while over 100,000 participants are expected across the globe.
