PDP CAMPAIGN WILL BE BASED ON ISSUES, GOVT. ACHIEVEMENTS - ONI

Ekiti State Governor, Engr .Segun Oni has said the People's Democratic Party (PDP) campaigns in the forthcoming elections will be based on integrity and notable achievements of the party in the last three years.


According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Wale Ojo Lanre, Governor Oni, while addressing party supporters from Oye Local Government in Ekiti North Senatorial District of the state, who were on a solidarity visit to his office, yesterday, charged the party supporters in the state to shun hooliganism and thuggery, which he alleged are presently used by the oppositions to earn cheap political points.


He noted that his administration has provided school furniture for both students and teachers in the entire public schools in the state in recent years, adding that infrastructure in the state schools have also become a national benchmark.


“You don't need to fight the oppositions. Your campaigns should be based on integrity and you know that we have a track record that could speak for itself.


“Presently, we have turned the road network in the entire state around. There is no town in the state today without access road – this is what has never happened in history,'' the governor said.


He advised the people of the state to keep on patronising the Eye Medical Centre put in place by his government, noting that the centre ranks among the best in the world in the area of ophthalmological care.


He also solicited the support of the people as his administration tackles other areas of concern such as power failure and water supply in the state.


Earlier, the PDP chairman, Oye local government, Isaac Agbelusi had expressed satisfaction with the performance of the present administration in the state .


He pledged the support of the party members in the area to the Oni administration noting the party faithful would ensure the good works continue.
